Mentoring at RFISD

The RFISD Mentor Program connects students with caring adult mentors who provide encouragement, consistency, and positive support during the school day. While this is a school-based program through Rockport-Fulton ISD, the Rockport-Fulton Education Foundation is proud to help financially support the program and encourage community members to become mentors for our students.

Why Mentoring Matters

Sometimes one caring adult can make a lasting difference in a student’s life. Mentors help students feel seen, supported, and encouraged as they build confidence, set goals, and stay connected to school.

What Mentors Do

Mentors spend time with students during the school day to listen, encourage, and build a positive relationship. A mentor may talk with a student, help them think through goals, celebrate progress, or simply be a consistent person they can count on.

Who Can Become a Mentor?

Community members, retirees, business professionals, parents, and caring adults who want to support students are encouraged to learn more. All mentors must follow RFISD requirements, including the district’s approval process, background check, and training.

School-Based Program

The RFISD Mentoring Program is a school-contracted program managed by the district. RFEF helps support mentoring by providing financial support and encouraging community involvement.

RFEF helps support mentoring because we believe students are more likely to succeed when they have strong relationships and encouragement around them. You can help by becoming a mentor, sharing the opportunity with others, or giving to RFEF to help keep student support programs strong across the district.
